We have a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the XXII Polish Conference on Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering which will be held in Warsaw (Poland) from May 19th to 21st, 2021. The conference will be hosted by the Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Registration is already open! For more information please visit the conference website: https://pcbbe.ibib.waw.pl

The biannual Polish Conference on Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (PCBBE) has been held for nearly four decades. It attracts scientists and professionals from the fields of engineering, medicine, physics, and computer science. The 22nd PCBBE will be an excellent opportunity for an exchange of ideas and scientific experience in all areas within the field of biomedical engineering. The conference is also an excellent place for young researchers, with the opportunity to present their scientific activities to an audience of the bioengineering research community.

In case the of persisting Covid-19 pandemic situation and travel and meetings restrictions, the conference will be held online or hybrid. The Conference Proceedings will be issued as usual.

Looking forward to seeing you in Warsaw in May 2021.

The team lead by Professor Marek Darowski invented VENTIL- system for independent synchronous lung ventilation.

In some clinical cases mechanical properties of each lung of a patient differ so much, that is necessary to ventilate them separately to control ventilation of each lung. VENTIL device allows for independent, fully automated synchronous ventilation of lungs with use of only one respirator. In the shortage of respirators (ex. terrorist attack, natural disasters) device allows also to ventilate in classical system two patients using single respirator.

Independent lung ventilation

 Effects of unilateral PEEP

Successful ventilation with a unique device
