MEMBRANA AWARD

The Annual ESAO Membrana Award (5000 Euro) is the most prominent award of the ESAO. It is aimed at encouraging young scientists (younger than 38 years) working in the relevant fields of the artificial organ research.  

 
 POSTER AWARDS

Three poster awards (500, 300 and 200 Euro) will be given to the authors of the best posters selected by a Jury at the meeting. Poster awards will be presented to the authors of the best posters during the Festive Dinner on Friday, September 10, 2004. 

  
 ESAO INNOVATION AWARDS

Two awards (500 Euro each) are dedicated to the most innovative work presented. The decision will be made by a jury based on abstracts and presentations.

  

 PRESENTATIONS

  
FREE COMMUNICATION: ORAL PRESENTATION

10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion for each communication are planned except Session XVIII in which discussion will take place at the end of the session. Strict adherence to the allotted time is firmly requested from speakers of all oral sessions. Computer beam projector connected to a PC computer running Windows 98 / XP, slide projector and overhead projector will be at presenters' disposal in each lecture room.
Computer presentations should be prepared using MS PowerPoint in 800 x 600 pixels resolution and full color mode (24 bpp). Resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels may be available but can not be guaranteed. Computer presentation should be recorded on a CD-ROM.
Slides must be 50 x 50 mm and be fitted in plastic or metal frames. 
The computer presentations and slides should be delivered to the Slide Center in advance to allow preparation of the presentations.

  
FREE COMMUNICATION: POSTER PRESENTATION

Presenting authors of each poster are kindly requested to be present at their posters during whole poster session to make a short 2-3 minutes presentation and to discuss their posters with the Chairmen and participants of the session.

All posters must have upright format. The poster size should not exceed 90 cm width and 110 cm height. For good legibility the letters should not be smaller than 1 cm.

To allow intensive poster visits and discussion during dedicated poster sessions and coffee breaks, each poster should be mounted not later than 10:00 on the day of presentation and should be removed after 17:00.

  
PUBLICATION POLICY

All accepted abstracts will be published in the "International Journal of Artificial Organs''.
